Game developer Blizzard announced that they would soon be releasing
a new expansion pack for their popular Diablo series entitled Diablo
II: Lord of the Dance.
The story behind the expansion has the homeland of the popular Deckard
Cain, Flatland, being invaded by a horde of fleet-footed dancers
intent on destruction, and led by the Lord of the Dance, Michael.
Like the previous expansion, Lord of Destruction, Blizzard has retooled
character skill sets and added two new character classes.
Janet Fitch, lead developer at Blizzard Entertainment, said, "I think
gamers are going to be really excited to play the Leaper and the Fiddler classes.
They've got some great skills. They're also going to be wowed by the Assassin's
Plié Attack, the Druid's Dance of Thunder and the Barbarian's Spinning
Hip Thrust."
New foes include zombie cloggers, tapper fiends, and prancing fairies.
The normally tight-lipped Blizzard developers did reveal that the
final duel against Michael would not be a battle, but a dance off
against the Lord of the Dance, himself. "I'm getting sweaty
just thinking about it," said Fitch.
In related news, Diablo said he was pretty tired of being killed
and plans to pass the torch to Diablo Jr. for Blizzard's upcoming
Diablo III.
